About The Program

- The Secondary School Student program allows foreign nationals to study at a public or private high school in the U.S. for a maximum of 1 academic school year.
- Foreign nationals are not permitted to live with family members while on this program. Options for housing are with an American host family or at a boarding school.
- Extracurricular activities are permitted, including after-school sports programs.

- No Part-Time or Full-Time Jobs
- Students in this program are not permitted to work part-time or full-time jobs. Occasional work like babysitting or yard work is permitted.

Eligibility
Applicants must:

- Be between 15 and 18.5 years old at the start of the program
- Not have finished more than 11 years of primary and secondary school (excluding kindergarten).
- Not have previously participated in a secondary school exchange program or semester exchange program or attended school in the U.S. on a J-1 or F-1 Visa.
If you need proof of English proficiency, we would recommend TEFL (one of the most widely accepted exams worldwide.)

- You must be a foreign national with supporting documentation of education and/or relevant work experience
- You must show proof of financial means to support yourself while in the U.S.
- You must not show immigrant intent
- You must not displace an American worker
